CHI 2021 Global community, Diversity and Inclusion (GDI) team is an expanded team of volunteers from the previous years’ Diversity and Inclusion Lunch team. As a result, the GDI team is planning to organize a series of events at CHI 2021. These include:
- CHI 2021 BLInner (Breakfast-Lunch-dInner). Attendees can register to attend an online cooking class live-streamed by an award winning chef, and learn about different cultures via food. More details to appear in the BLInner Blog by the end of March, 2021
- CHI 2021 Mentor Circle. First time attendees can sign-up for mentorship from an experienced CHI attendee prior to attending the conference, in a group Q & A format to make the most out of CHI 2021. More details to appear in the Mentor Circle Blog by the end of March, 2021
- CHI 2021 Allyship Playlist. Attendees can view original content created by non-government funded organisations and curated by the GDI team to understand how to create a “safe space”. More details to appear by mid April, 2021
- CHI 2021 Diversity Chat. This panel styled chat will focus on how to be a supportive community member in SIGCHI via understanding barriers to inclusion for diverse people. More details to appear by mid April, 2021
