A CHI Journals presentation gives authors the opportunity to get increased exposure for their paper by presenting it at the conference while also benefiting from the greater continuity of the journal review process. CHI Journals invites selected authors of papers accepted to either ACM Transactions on Computer-Human Interaction (ToCHI) or ACM Transactions on Social Computing (TSC) to present their work at the conference. Historically, we also have accommodated presentation slots for papers published at other HCI journals, but invitations to such papers depend on the availability of space.
Submissions to CHI Journals are by INVITATION ONLY. Invitations will be sent by the CHI Journals chair (email@example.com) to the corresponding author of papers. Invited authors are then required to submit details on their paper to PCS. All unsolicited submissions will be rejected.
Invitations are usually made within one year of a paper being accepted by the journal. For example, papers being invited for presentations at CHI 2021 will normally have been accepted between November 2019 and October 2020. Authors should also be aware that each ToCHI and TSC paper can be presented at only one ACM conference.
Invited authors who would like to present their papers at CHI 2021 must make a complete submission in PCS. Any incomplete or late submission will not be considered for inclusion in the program.
After the notifications, authors will be asked to submit a 30-second video preview summarizing the paper; this is optional, but highly encouraged, as it will increase the visibility of your paper before, at the conference, and in online video platforms.
